Sand is a sensory wonder and Ev loves digging, exploring and building with it. We’re fans of a sand castle, and we found these little egg versions to be lots of fun too!
You need plastic eggs, sand and a spade. Don’t have any sand? Why not try play doh versions!

Using plastic egg halves, Ev filled them with sand and made lots of mini castles. The plastic eggs were the perfect size for his little hands and they were actually much more manageable than the traditional plastic bucket. He loved the feel of the sand in his fingers, the anticipation of ‘will it or won’t it work?’ and decorating his masterpieces with shells!
This activity is great for developing senses, concentration and motor skills.
