Ev loves following the pattern and this is a great activity which is based on the same idea, just eggy style!
You only need plastic egg halves.
Before you get started: be sure to check out my 8 Principles of Play!
Lay out your plastic egg halves in a line using different colours and a mix of the egg ‘tops’ and ‘bottoms’. Next to this, add a pile of matching eggs for your little one to choose from. That’s it!
Encourage them to have a look at the pattern, choose a matching egg and place it next to the ones laid out. This can work just with colours for younger children and sizes for older children. It can be quite tricky to distinguish between the egg halves so this is brilliant for observation and Ev loved shouting ‘snap’ each time that he correctly matched!
This activity is great for observation and fine motor skills.
