Ev is a huge fan of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ book, so he was delighted when I suggested that we make his very own!
You need plastic eggs, two pipe cleaners and googly eyes (alternatively, a marker pen would work just as well).
Before you get started: be sure to check out my 8 Principles of Play!
Simply thread your egg halves onto the two pipe cleaners inserting one pipe cleaner per hole of the egg shells. Add an egg ‘top’ to the last shell that you thread to make a bottom. Stick on some eyes and you’re done!
I loved seeing Ev’s look of concentration attempting to thread the pipe cleaners and he was overjoyed with his finished caterpillar! Despite it’s name, it is, in fact, very hungry and has already eaten a whole Easter egg, ahem.
