Even when they can see you’re probably struggling, they still choose in that moment, to ignore you. I suppose it’s human nature, which is quite sad really.
Well done to the dad on the train.
I’ve been in that situation with my little one and could really have done with someone like that. 😊

Each new stage does seem to being its own joys (and challenges!) It must be lovely for you to be so close to your Grandchild and I’m sure your daughter was so grateful for your support. I know I’d have been lost without my Mum’s help xxx

But when your babies grow up, they (or at least one!) will probably have babies of their own and you get to do some of it again. My younger daughter became pregnant as a teenager (not ideal) and so I was young enough, and necessary enough, to be very involved with the new-baby-milky-smell stage again. Then some of the things you have now forgotten come back to you, the memories nudged into your consciousness by the new new person. I don’t mean look forward to that. I mean be reassured that you can revisit one day. And so many joys of different kinds lie between now and then. (My teen-mum-daughter is now a qualified midwife an newborns are her stock-in-trade!)

Your little people are lovely with developing personalities and the normality that only comes from the right parental attention and love. Keep blogging!
