Easter crafts for toddlers

The Easter bunny and his carrot

OK, so these aren’t the soft and fluffy rabbit variety, but Ev loved helping to make these eggy versions!

For the Easter bunny you need:

  • one plastic egg;
  • three pipe cleaners; and
  • a black marker.

For the carrot you need:

  • one plastic egg;
  • two pipe cleaners; and
  • a black marker.

Before you get started: be sure to check out my 8 Principles of Play!

For the main rabbit himself:

  1. Open your plastic egg and thread one pipe cleaner through each of the holes in the larger half of the egg from the inside out. Curve each pipe cleaner into a ‘bunny ear’ before threading the end back through the same hole.
  2. Take the smaller half and thread one pipe cleaner through each of the two holes, again from the inside out. Curve the ends back round and push them back through the holes, making thumpy feet as you do so.
  3. Draw on a face and enjoy!

For his dinner:

  1. Open your plastic egg and threat one pipe cleaner through both holes of the smaller half of the egg, from the inside out. Leave the ends poking out to create carrot leaves.
  2. Repeat for added greenery.
  3. Draw a face and enjoy!
